Multiupload is back, at a new URL: http://www.multiupload.nl

I have been doing checks of my uploads there, looks like none of the copies uploaded to Multiupload itself have not been transfered to the new URL, and the copies Multiupload send to other filehosters 99% have been also expired and/or deleted. The end result – all files I uploaded to Multiupload can be considered lost :/

I think I may still use Multiupload when I need to upload zips/rars because I always have upload problems with Mediafire, and I don’t trust either more than the other and I don’t know of better ones.

The Mediafire account of the owner of a screencapping community capsanyone @ Livejournal was locked because of “copyrighted” material.

I’m sad it (finally) happened, but I’m not surprised :/ I’ve been expecting it to happend and screencappers to start falling victim to this war on copyright infringers, even though in all honesty, I believe screencappers are just collateral casualties because filehosters where before might have turned a blind eye to screencaps, now aggressively delete our uploads “just in case”.

As I have many times said, I have always preferred galleries myself over zips/rars (never liked them, never trusted file hosters). Ever since Megaupload went, I’ve been considering very carefully everytime I upload something whether I care about the movie/tv series enough to sort out the caps and put it into a self-hosted gallery – gallery, that I know will be up as long as I want to keep it up, but know as many people won’t download them because they don’t like a gallery – or upload it to Mediafire or another filehoster in rars where their online presence is <em>out of my control</em> even if I pay for the account they’re on.

Guess I’ll be doing even more evaluating from now on. Or maybe I should just move on to all gallery all the time method, no matter what people would like… It really is looking more and more unsafe and uncertain to keep uploading anything – but especially screencaps – to filer hosters; there’s like 50/50 chance your files either be deleted/locked for copyright infringement or the entire damn business is sued and seized by authorities. End result in the same: no files!

All updates are delayed. Since February 14 when I had the capsule camera thing done I haven’t been feeling well because it aggravated the bowel syptoms – I’ve had two bad flare-ups, the second this weekend and culminating yesterday. And t0 make it all real fun, I’ve been battling the flu since about Thursday – which in my case means a sore throat and a cough from hell.

Needless to say, I’m not feeling like updating websites right now, and won’t be until I’m feeling half-way human again. So any and updates are delayed for now.
